Ciao Gio,
When the hen was not very intense she had the allele blue.
Than you breeded black X (dark) blue.
The outcome of that breed is:
50% black (bl+/bl+);
50% blue (BL/bl+).
Splash (Bl/Bl) can than not be in these chicks because the father had no allele "Bl" and so it can not be double in the chicks.
The colour blue itself can variate between very light and vey dark.
One thing is sure there are light blues between these chicks.
