questo è lo standard della colorazione.
gallo:colore fondamentale bruno-rosso intenso.
Tarsi color carne chiaro.
Occhio color rosso-aranciato.

A question about the first photos (maybe was yet answered but I couldn't understand the complete discussion).
Why is the neck soo dark in this breed ?

The neck is so dark because it is uncorrect... The ideal neck should be lighter, I mean with more red, but I've never seen a red neck with some white pearls on. It is easier to see a dark neck with them. And the black must anyway be there!
I have three cockerels: the father is the one I sent you for the genetics guide.
One of the sons is the one in the picture above (dark neck).
The third has red neck, but with a few white pearls and black on it.
I'll take some pictures just to let you see the differences.
Anyway, as Alessio showed in his pictures, there are many varieties of the neck colour... ;-) |

I asked about this dark neck because it is mentioned in the genetic-guide what is the possible cause.
The gene "cha" (charcoal) which is a recessive gene (cha/cha) causes specific dark necks. So your Orpingtons must have this gene.

An other thing I found strange was the title : Orpington millefiori (giubeleo) !
Millefiori = eb/eb s+/s+*s+/- Co/Co mo/mo
Giubileo = eb/eb s+/s+*s+/- Pg/Pg Ml/Ml Mh/Mh I/I or I/i+
As you can see 2 completely different genetic-codes !
Why you made this connection "millefiori <=> giubeleo" ?

Danny, Danny, sometimes you're too analytic... ;-)
About Charcoal: I don't know if it's his responsibility the black colour of neck... Because the tail is, opposite, TOO WHITE! Charcoal should work also on the tail and in this case (in all the cockerels) the tail shows 2 total white feathers: why? :-)
About Jubilee: it is simply the english hobbyname for Millefiori, because this colour has been created and showed for the first time at a Jubilee in the last century. So, no genetic reasons, only hobbyname. |

I said yet before, this is not an exact science !
But so your title "Jubilee" had nothing to see with "Giubileo" ?

As far as I know the gene "cha" is NOT responsible for the black in the tail but the gene "Co" is !
A (pure) Lakenvelder have as genetic-code : "eb/eb S/S*S/- Co/Co cha/cha".

No Danny, for me (and for english people) Jubilee Orpington is very different from Giubileo (es. Cornish). :-) |

Yes, seems to be something special this "jubilee" Orpington !!
" The Jubilee was created to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. It is a bit of a mystery as to exactly what breeds were used to creat it, but it is believed to be a decendant of the speckled sussex"
Also the "spangled" Oprington seems to not correspondent with the spangling in other races !!
Extraordinary colorations these Orpingtons
