The neck is so dark because it is uncorrect... The ideal neck should be lighter, I mean with more red, but I've never seen a red neck with some white pearls on. It is easier to see a dark neck with them. And the black must anyway be there!
I have three cockerels: the father is the one I sent you for the genetics guide.
One of the sons is the one in the picture above (dark neck).
The third has red neck, but with a few white pearls and black on it.
I'll take some pictures just to let you see the differences.
Anyway, as Alessio showed in his pictures, there are many varieties of the neck colour... ;-) |
