Allevare perniciata oro e argento

To continue my saying on the perniciata oro é Argento I write also this :
For every chicken coloration you need to start looking what is there "ground-coloration", this is situated on the E-locus, which is autosomaal (= the same on both sexes).

This E-gene have different alleles, the original (this with a "+") and 4 mutants (with no "+") by which are determinate the ground-colours.

This E-gene can be in homozygosis (= pure) : E/E (=Nero), ER/ER (=Betulla), eWh/eWh (=frumento), eb/eb (=perniciata), e+/e+ (=selvatica).
This E-gene can be in heterozygosis (= unpure) : E/ER, E/eWh, E/eb, E/e+ (=Nero) or ER/eWh, ER/eb, ER/e+ (=Betulla) or eWh/eb, eWh/e+ (=frumento) or eb/e+ (=perniciata).
I wrote them in order of Dominancy.

This was the second step in the "Basics of chickens colours basics". As you can see, when the steps are taken one by one, color-genetics is not that difficult, remember, even a housewife can do it ! Several exhibition judges on the contrairy not can, maybe because they never do housekeeping !!

When we now combine these 2 steps (S- and E- Locus), which every chicken coloration always have, we can come now to the :

-perniciata oro which is eb/eb s+/s+ (cock) or eb/eb s+/- (hen)
-perniciata Argento which is eb/eb S/S (cock) or eb/eb S/- (hen)

In this easy way we can analyse every coloration (one step by one step).
