Alessio, I think you are right about the tonality of the red.
Marans are special know for this coloration "coppernecks".
Even the genetic-rule say that a Dominant gene need only 1 allel to express the same as with 2 alleles in the phenotype (but when it is in double doses it express better).
I suppose the difference here can be caused by the fact the red intensifier Mahagony is only in a single doses "Ml/ml+" and not in a double doses "Ml/Ml" as it should be along the standard.
