Depends on what you intend with "masking a gene"

- for the E-locus alleles (quello che determina il colore di fondo o il disegno/colore primario) Ml on E change nothing, Ml on ER produce a complete black phenotype, Ml on e+ and eb darken the phenotype, Ml on eWh darken the phenotype only a little.

- for the other-locus alleles (quello che determina il disegno/colore secondario) Ml can go in a "crossing over" combination with Db and Pg and will influence the others in a greater or lesser extent.
But … don't think however that we can exclude the fact that there are other modifiers that influence the color-genes !

per una questione di comodo mi era rimasto il dubbio di avere un gallo eterozigote S/s+ in tonalità chiara (non credo esista) ma non è di certo il mio caso. altrimenti nelle nuove nascite avrei dovuto vedere galli come capita nelle galline principi di dorè, i nuovi 8 galli nati sono tutti S Silver/argentè, resta di cercare particolari nella piuma delle tre galline riproduttrici (produrre materiale fotografico)
