I don't know how many generations would be necessary to bring type back completely, but breeding to a bird with more Orp will just set you backwards.

To bring in a Dominant colorations from an extern breed you need about 6 generations to come back to 98% of the original breed.
To bring in a recessive colorations from an extern breed you need about the double of generations to come back to 98% of the original breed. (just because of the always breeding back of visuality of the recessive coloration).
