Or is it eb/eb Pg/Pg Ml/Ml Fm/Fm ???
I am still sorry for my NON Italiano!!! Can someone translate please?
We know (Silver or gold) Partridge Silkies with there Asiatic origine have “eb/eb” on the E-locus (which is only the base for the distribution of the genes) but that “eb/eb” is evenso the basic for the “pattern” genes, one of them is called “Pg/Pg” (which determines the location of the black pigment on the feather, ex. single-, double-, multible-laced …)
Now there are 3 genes sometimes interfearing in the "eb/eb Pg/Pg" (Patterned Asiatic partridge brown):
- Ml/Ml = Melanotic (blackextender) on the “patterned gold or Silver multiple laced partridge/Brown”, making all the feathers almost black;
- Fm/- = Fibromelenotic (blackextender) on the fibres of the bird (Silkie), making the skin, meat and bones almost complete black;
- id+/id+ = dermalmelanotic (pigmenter) causing pigmentation on the upper skin.
What I want to ask about is: what is the connection between “eb – Pg and the Ml – Fm - id+” ????
