What is discribed in the books as "Barring" is intended the very close lines of dark and light barred (= race with slow growing feathers).
What is discribed in the books as "Cucula" is intended the more open lines of dark and light barred (= race with quick growing feathers).
This make confusion but genetically they have the same color-genes ! Just the timing for "growing" and so of letting pass pigment is different.
