-White is absence of pigment
-Silver (S) is the mutation of gold (s+) Silver inhibits the production of red- and black-pigment.
The result is the same (we see white when they are next to eachother) but the process is different.
When we speak of a "Silver Partridge" nobody think of white but of Silver.
