Did you know that genes can mask each other’s presence or combine to produce an entirely new trait? This is called epistasis.
Dihybrid crosses done by Gregor Mendel simultaneously examined two different genes that controlled two different traits (RRYY) and (rryy) ..... F1 progeny with each other (RrYy × RrYy), he obtained an F2 generation with a phenotypic ratio of 9:3:3:1 => 9/16 : R_Y_ , 3/16 : R_yy, 3/16 : rrY_ , 1/16 : rryy .... no "bullshit" !
